⚖️ PipeCandy's Values - For the x → 10x journey

When we started, a set of founding principles made sense and they still do. They reflect the beliefs of the founders. But we need certain guiding values that are stage-specific and that go beyond what the founders care about. The organization has to have its own values that are drawn from the founders' beliefs but also from how we have evolved as a team and they should prepare us for the road ahead. With that in mind, here are the values that keep us going now.

  1. Achieve outcomes. Finish tasks.
  2. Actively engage. Don’t assume.
  3. If you know it, you own it.
  4. Be bold. No sacred cows.
  5. Be proactive and reliable — consistently.
  6. Self-learn. Elevate others by coaching.
  7. Trust intentions. Verify actions.
  8. Celebrate now.
  9. Do what is right immediately.
  10. Be a partner and not a vendor.

Living our values

When working by ourselves

1. Achieve outcomes. Finish tasks.

Each task has a desired outcome. The outcome is real progress. Finishing a task is not. Clarify what outcome is your task supposed to achieve. If you don't know, don't start work on that task.

Examples:

Task Outcome
Deploy web page Page visits & conversions are as expected
Send sample Send a sample that has covered all the expectations of the prospect
Crawl a page New data-sets or data attributes from a page that can be integrated into our dataset – as a one-time pull or periodic updates. (You should know what is a better approach before starting the job. Don't assume that the task giver has thought about it)
Send a quote Get them to agree to a quote or come to negotiate
Do A/B Testing Find out what changes improve the conversion by what %

2. Ask. Tell. Experiment. Don't assume.

We cannot get everything done by ourselves. We need support from others. Explicitly ask what you need others to do for you to finish your job. It is not for you to optimize for others' problems that you have imagined to be true. Don't assume that
